ROYALS CALL TO REVIVE AKROPONG SALEM PRESBY JHS

The Royals of Salem has given various learning materials to their alma mater, Salem Presby JHS Akropong-Akuapem on 7th June 2019, emphasizing the need to resuscitate their school which currently survives in its past glories, as part of its key objectives deemed the formation of the group.
The group is basically made up of about, the 48 ex-students of the 2000-year batch who are currently mindful professionals in their chosen fields of practice. The Royals of Salem was formed basically to see to the welfare of its members just as that of the school.

“The Akropong Salem we left was the best JHS in the entire of Akuapem and has produced lots of prominent individuals. On the part of both students and teachers, the school was a hallmark for discipline, punctuality and excellence, however right now, no one knows the school since it’s lost all of value” Mrs Ellen Owusu Agyei, Founder and Vice-president of the group revealed to WhatsUp News.
The initiatives of the group have so far helped the school in areas such as an improvement in the BECE results after the first donation of some mathematical sets a year ago.  Another donation of an increasingly modern mathematical sets was presented to all the 40 students of form 3.
Joshua Owusu, Boys Prefect of Akropong Salem Presby, on his part said the donation as at last year was extremely useful to him and his colleagues. He added, the recently donated sets are extraordinary because they contain lights and can be used during power outages.
Dr. Macjordan Adams, member and Medical Officer, lamented on the huge setbacks attained by the school after their passing out.
He, therefore, appealed to the group to be consistent in its commitment. However he calls on the consideration of other year groups to embrace the drive to achieve its goals. He added, “The contributory efforts of other past year groups would expand the chances to reinstate or enhance the schools quality”.
As indicated by the Vice-President of the group, the school needs a complete overhauling, critically in areas of discipline and standard, adding a structural change to accommodate a suitable classroom learning conditions.
She said the standpoint is for a transformed Salem Presby, headed by a past student who experienced the standard of the school and therefore repositioning the school as the best in Akuapem.
